Paintings and Workshop Schedule

Sharon is an award winning artist and teacher. Her 30-year background in painting in different mediums is reflected in works of strong design, and inventive use of color. Sharon believes a painting is a moment of life, captured on canvas. She is dedicated to the Plein Air principle that capturing true color, value and mood of a subject is best done on location or through direct observation. The goal of Sharon's workshop is capturing the spirit and the effects of light by simplifying the composition into large masses relating to the elements in light and the elements in shadow. Sharon will explain the principles of composition, value, color temperature, and conveying the center of interest. Individual expression is stressed in Sharon's workshops, as you learn to pick up on subtleties of nature and use them with your own personal, artistic thoughts and emotions.
